Apparel Design Project 1 (TP)
For my Apparel Design Project 1, we were tasked with creating a statement two-piece streetwear look using upcycled or pre-loved garments and fabrics. The project focused on raising awareness about environmental issues, and we had to choose between Ocean & Waste Pollution, Deforestation, or Air Pollution. I chose to focus on Ocean & Waste Pollution as the theme for my design.
My concept is inspired by a post-apocalyptic vision of the world—one where humanity no longer exists, and nature begins to reclaim what was once hers. Buildings and cities would be overtaken by wild vegetation, and algae would dominate the oceans and seas, thriving in the absence of human interference.
These are some textile manipulations and prints that I developed for my concept and I added 1 each to my look.
